Since 2009 Bing has a steady growth, the search engine’s user base has grown to 524 million unique users who conduct about 5 billion searches each month. For marketers, it is key to know who is using Bing, so they can target them for their business.

According to an infographic published by Bing and its parent company, Microsoft you can learn more.

The Bing Network of search partners has also grown: Bing now powers searches for Yahoo, Windows 10, Siri, Amazon, and others. And nearly 30% of searches conducted on desktops, tablets or mobiles are powered by the Bing Network.

But let me share you my experience with driving with Bing maps. It did not work really, sorry. I lost my way in California and the maps in Dubai, Middle East where I live are not good up to date.

1. Google

Some people say Google Search Engine is the best search engine in the world and it is also one of most popular product from Google. Nearly 70% of Search Engine market has been acquired by Google. The tech giant has always tried to improve the search engine algorithm to provide better results in relevance to the end-user.

Looking at the statistics of Alexa, google.com is the most visited site in the whole web.

2. Microsoft’s answer Bing

When Microsoft sees the success in a field they try to catch up, Bing is Microsoft’s answer to Google. Since 2009, Bing is also a good and best search engine. Bing is the default search engine in Microsoft’s web browser. The team behind Bing is always improving on a daily base to make it a better search engine, however trying playing catch up with Google is a tough job. Bing provides different services including image, web and video search along with maps.

3. Yahoo

What happens to Yahoo, was it not once a while nearly the inventor of search engines? Yahoo is not giving competition to Google but giving competition to Bing. According to the latest report on netmarketshare, Yahoo has a market share of 7.68 percent whe it comes to search engines. Yahoo is still a leader in among most popular free email providers but does not able to convince users in search engine area.

4.  Baidu

Baidu is Chinese web search engine founded in January 1, 2000. This web search is made to deliver results for websites, audio files, and images. Also, Baidu shine with the 4. place on Alexa. Value-added services like maps, news, cloud storage and much more can be found on Baidu.

Of course, it is one of the most used search engine in China.

5. AOL

Aol.com is still among the top search engines in the world. It has a market share of 0.59 percent. Verizon Communication has acquired AOL for $4.4 billion. AOL can look back at some internet history, it was started back in 1983 as Control Video Corporation. It was named America Online in 1991 and in 2009 as AOL Inc.

In fact, AOL is a global mass media company which is based in New York. The company also provides advertising services as AOL Advertising and AOL Platform.

6. Ask.com

Ask.com was formerly known ask Ask Jeeves founded in 1995. Its search results are based on question answering web format. The start was more like a community for question &  answer. You can get the answers to your question and it integrates a large amount of archive data to answer your question. With ask.com, you will not get as better results you get in Google, Bing, or Yahoo.

7. Excite

Most of us don’t know about a search engine named “Excite” which was also founded in 1995. Even I was unaware of it before got to know while researching this topic. Excite is an online service web portal. It provides internet services like email, search engine, news, instant messaging and weather updates.

8. DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is a popular search engine known for protecting the privacy of its users. To generate search results, they have partnered with Yahoo, Bing, and Yummly. Gabriel Weinberg founded DuckDuckGo back in 2008. Its revenue comes from Yahoo-Bing search alliance network and Affiliates.

9. WolframAlpha

WolframAlpha is a computational search engine which does not give a list of documents or web pages as search results. But its results are based on facts & data about that query. It’s also called a computational knowledge engine. It was launched in 2009 and based on Mathematica.

10. Yandex

Yandex is the most used search engine in Russia. In fact, it is a Russian internet company launched in 1997. Yandex also has a great presence in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Turkey. Extended services like Yandex Maps, Yandex Music, online translator, Yandex Money and many other services can be found on the search portal.
