Comparing B2b vs B2C acknowledges us that both still use unique digital marketing techniques for their mission. Since the majority of the online audience is active in social networks the approaches need to consider different parameters. Looking at the social media marketing trends 2017 teaches us a turning point has come.

Facebook, for example, is still leading the B2C marketing agenda when it comes to social media marketing. Surprisingly Facebook got also notices as B2B channels.

Marketing technology company Grazitti looked into these trends in 2017 based on the Social Media Examiner’s 2017 Social Media Marketing Industry Report.

B2B marketers typically look into professional networking channels, like LinkedIn or Xing (depending on the region and country). Also, Twitter is one of the preferred channels for B2B marketers besides LinkedIn and Facebook.

Facebook use by B2B marketers increased from 37% in 2016 to 43% in 2017. 

LinkedIn on the other side has decreased from 40% to 37%, according to the infographic. That makes Facebook the most popular social media marketing channel for marketers.

Markers are still losing out when it comes to image-based social media channels like Pinterest and Instagram and also video-based social networks. This does not aline with the content trend of the younger generation who are the visual consumer.
